BHOPAL: Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's passion for motorcycles is well known but his fascination for weapons came to light when he demanded to try his hand at shooting in Indore, where he led India to an emphatic ODI win against England.
Dhoni, who was not allowed to watch
Dostana owing to security reasons, tried his hands at weapons like AK-47 and Insas rifle.
"It was a totally unexpected demand from the team india captain on November 16 that he be allowed to watch
Dostana," Security in-charge of the team and Deputy Suprinetendent of Police (DSP) crime, Rajesh Vyas said on Tuesday.
When one of the team official Russel Radhakrishna convinced Dhoni not to venture out for the movie in the city he dropped the idea, but then wanted to visit a shooting-range.
"At the Border Security Force's (BSF) range near the team hotel at Ujjain road, he tested his firing skills with weapons like AK-47 and Insas," Vyas said.
Dhoni has also applied for a gun license in his home town Ranchi, Jharkhand.
