Sofia Vergara of 'The Modern Family' fame, last seen judging 'America's Got Talent', has become the highest-paid actress, according to Forbes list. She beat Angelina Jolie in doing so.

The reason for Sofia making it to the list could be attributed to her paycheck from 'The Modern Family'. She reportedly charged USD 500,00 (Rs. 36,667,584) per episode. The show came to an end after completing 11 seasons this April.

More so, it was rumoured that the actress minted USD 10 million (Rs. 73,32,26,000) per season of 'America's Got Talent'. "She padded that income with a series of endorsement and licensing deals," reported Forbes.

Sofia earns USD 43 million (Rs. 3.153 billion), while Angelina Jolie mints USD 35.5 million (Rs. 2.6 billion). Third on the list was 'Wonder Woman' Gal Gadot who takes home USD 31.5 million (Rs. 2.3 billion).

Melissa McCarthy, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Nicole Kidman, Ellen Pompeo and Elisabeth Moss also ranked on the list with USD 25 million, 24 million, 22.5 million, 22 million, 19 million and 16 million respectively. 'How To Get Away With Murder' lead actress Viola Davis also made it to the list at number 10 with USD 15.5 million. 'Black Widow' Scarlett Johansson did not enter the rank this year.

Forbes had previously announced its list of highest-paid actors too, in which Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar ranked number four with USD 48.5 million. Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson topped the list with USD 87.5 million.
