Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who enjoys huge popularity in India after she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2017 film Raees, has tied the knot with famous businessman Salim Karim. The wedding festivites happened in Murree city in Pakistan's Punjab province. Their videos and photos went viral on Instagram

This is her second marriage as the Humsafar star married with Ali Askari in 2007 and divorced from him in 2015. The ex-couple had welcomed their son named Azlan Askari after two years of their marriage. It was only recently during a podcast in August when the actress opened up on her divorce and how she handled her personal life.

Speaking on the FWhy Podcast hosted by Pakistani acress and former model Frieha Altaf, the actress shared that Ali was her "childhoot sweetheart" and she went to Los Angeles at the age of 17 for him but they both broke up there. "We were always supposed to go to LA since my uncles were already there, but at 17, I insisted that I go early since I was in love and he was there. But, after going there, mujhe meri naani yaad aa gayi (things got difficult for me)", Mahira said.

A few years later, Mahira and Ali got together again and married in Lahore in 2007 and welcomed their first child, a son Azlan whom she lovingly calls Azu. The Legend of Maula Jatt actress added, "Post Azu, I knew my marriage was...even prior I think....But I think you let it go on and you love the person, who is your childhood sweetheart. But I think that was a very painful and difficult time. I was so young at the time. I had a baby, I was scared. Professionally, I was very successful. I never knew I would become successful overnight with Humsafar. But personally, it was a tough time."

"When you are going through it, it is very painful. You are sitting in a room, and you feel the walls are closing in on you. You feel anxious and you don’t know what it is. I think that is more painful than when you make a decision. I knew that I would take my child but I knew that I didn’t want to be dependent on anyone, not even my parents. When there was nobody with me, I had my work. It was a huge support", the actress concluded on how she took refuge in her work.

Ali Askari, who works at MTV Pakistan, also had his second marriage in 2017 when he tied the knot with Zara Dadabhoy in an intimate ceremony.
