Maharaja first look: Wounded Vijay Sethupathi looks lethal in poster of his 50th film, fans call it 'masterpiece'

Actor Vijay Sethupathi is currently basking in glory for playing the evil weapons dealer Kali in Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. Amid, Jawan's craze, the makers of Vijay's 50th film, Maharaja, released a new poster. On Sunday, Vijay Sethupahi shared the poster of Maharaja on his social media handles. 

In the poster, a wounded Vijay is seen sitting on a barber's chair with a sickle in his hand. In the background policemen are looking at him, and with the poster it seems like Vijay's character was a on killing spree, and police have arrived at his workplace. Vijay shared the poster on his social media handles with the caption, "#MaharajaFirstLook."

As soon as the poster was released, several netizens hailed the movie as the next blockbuster from Vijay Sethupathi. An internet user wrote, "Vijay Sethupathi No 1 actor in the world." Another internet user wrote, "Legend actor Vijay Sethupathy sir always heart touching. Jawan se aacha yeh roll hoga." A netizen wrote, "Another Masterpiece Character Loading." Another netizen wrote, "Vera level anna, can't wait." 

About Jawan

Released in cinemas on September 7, Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan has won positive reviews from critics and the masses. Within three days of release, Jawan has grossed over Rs 200 crores domestically from Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. The film is on course to enter the Rs 500 crore gross worldwide in its extended weekend. 

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan stars Vijay Sethupathi as the main antagonist with Nayantha marking her Bollywood debut as the leading lady. Deepika Padukone makes a special appearance and Sanjay Dutt is also seen in a cameo in the second half. The director Atlee himself is seen for a few seconds in the Zinda Banda song. Before Jawan, Vijay was seen with Vikrant Massey in the crime thriller Mumbaikar.
