Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has purchased a new home in New York - a townhouse in Manhattan's West Village worth almost £4 million.

The 21-year-old actor also owns a £3 million loft in fashionable Mercer Street and a £3.5-million flat on Morton Street in the TriBeCa area, reports the Daily Express.

The Britain's wealthiest young star, owning a net worth of £45.6million, had already rented out the Mercer Street loft and according to friends, intends to do the same with his latest acquisition.

According to Sotheby's International Realty, which brokered the West Village sale, the property is on "one of New York's most picturesque tree-lined, landmark cobblestone blocks".

The five-bedroom, 3,000 sq ft town house, built in 1847 and listed as a conservation building, could be rented out for £5,000 a week when fully furnished, said experts.

Radcliffe already lets the Mercer Street loft for £3,000 a week and may also rent out his TriBeCa home on a short lease when he breaks off from his Broadway production to promote Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which premieres in London on July 7, a week before its worldwide release.

"Daniel's property portfolio shows wise investment sense," said Media analyst Mike Raia.
