Cricket Australia CEO Kevin Roberts revealed that discussions about banned duo of David Warner and Steven Smith have begun.

Accoridng to news reports, Cricket Australia may bring Smith and Warner back in national duty during Australia's limited-overs series that is scheduled to be played in March.

However, Smith and Warner have been preparing to make a comeback via the Indian Premier League which begins on March 29, but apparently, that plan could change.

"We’ve had some good early discussions. We’re also conscious that we’ve got a bit over three months to prepare,” smh.com.au quoted Roberts as saying.

"We’re in the planning phase. If the draft dates of the Pakistan series remain as they are then it’s possible the players will be eligible for selection for the final two matches. That [whether Smith and Warner return mid-series] is something we need to consider over these coming weeks,” he added.

Nevertheless, now that Cameron Bancroft confirmed Warner to be the mastermind behind the ball-tampering incident in the Cape Town Test earlier, nothing certain can be predicted about the former deputy's future.

Meanwhile, even Smith confessed that he had discovered the plan when he overheard a conversation in the team’s dressing room at Newlands but unfortunately, he didn't make an effort to stop it that eventually turned out to be a massive failure of his leadership.
