Day 5 of the third Test between India and Australia saw Rishabh Pant record his third Test half-century off just 64 deliveries at Sydney Cricket Ground. The wicketkeeper-batsman was promoted up the order and came in place of Hanuma Vihari.
The 50 is Pant's 10th consecutive 25+ score against Australia on their own soil. He hit Nathon Lyon for 3 fours and one 6 in the spinner's last two overs.
What is even more interesting is that Pant has got hit in the elbow and was injured and was on doubt of playing. Pant underwent scans after the third day's play after being hit by the shorter length deliveries by Pat Cummins.
Seeing the onslaught on the Australian bowlers, netizens showered praises on the young lad.
Brilliant fifty by Rishabh Pant. After being hit on the hand in the first innings, he couldn't do wicketkeeping yet he recovered well and came to bat and put on an aggressive display of his power hitting. pic.twitter.com/xvvHX0IYXg

Rishabh Pant watched Headingley 2019 and thought: yeah, sure, but what if Stokes had batted like that *from the beginning*

Wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha took the gloves in place of Pant, even though he is in pain but the scans has shown no major damage and would be able to bat for the team if needed.
Currently, India need 215 runs and have scored 192 and lost three wickets. Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara have stiched a 70+ runs partnership.
