India vs Australia 3rd Test Day 4, Live Cricket Score: India closed in on a big win by reducing Australia to 258 for 8 at end of day four of the third Test on Saturday. India have set the hosts an improbable target of 399 after declaring their second innings at 106 for eight at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Pat Cummins thwarted India's hopes of closing out the win with a day to spare, anchoring some stubborn tail-end resistance after the top order crumbled. The seamer was 61 not out, with Nathan Lyon on six, and Australia still 141 runs short of their victory target.
On a grim day for Australian cricket, Cummins was the only shining light for the home side, and recorded career-best figures of 6-27 before Kohli declared India's second innings at 106-8 before lunch.

India will take the extra half hour to try and end the match today. Australia are 229/8 after 77 overs right now. The new ball is just 3 overs away.

The trick of coming over the wicket has somehow worked. Jadeja pulls his length slightly back this time and Paine is induced into the cut off the back foot. The ball keeps a tad bit low and takes the toe end of the willow on its way through and Pant holds on for a really smart catch.
