Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Sindh Dhoni recently talked about how he and Chenni Super Kings were a perfect mix like rum and coke.

Dhoni, who was present at the book launch on former BCCI chief N Srinivasan, said that he never thought he would be selected for the Chennai franchise in the IPL - which was owned by Srinivasan’s India Cements during the very first auction.

Under 'Thala' Dhoni’s captaincy, CSK has won the IPL title three times – 2010, 2011 and 2018. They have been also runners-up on four occasions.

CSK were banned from the IPL for two seasons along with Rajasthan Royals for spot-fixing. Dhoni had spent the last two seasons with Rising Pune Super (RPS) Giants after eight years with the south Indian team. After the retrun of CSK in 11th edition of IPL, Dhoni led them to the title.

Dhoni also got a little emotional while speaking at an event. Talking about N Srinivasan, he said, “I got to learn a lot out of him as I have been a part of CSK for the longest times. I never knew I would be selected for CSK. It became a very perfect mix like rum and coke. Either you love him or hate him, but you cannot ignore him. Fortunate to have been able to spend a lot of time with him.”

Legendary players like Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, GR Vishwanath, Dilip Vengsarkar, K Srikkanth, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, VVS Laxman, Syed Kirmani, and Dinesh Karthik were present during the launch.

The book 'Defying The Paradigm’ talks about the life of Srinivasan.
