The second Twenty20 International (T20I) between India and Australia was called off due to rain in Melbourne on Saturday.

On the final ball of the 19th over, Ben McDermott smashed Jasprit Bumrah for a lovely boundary and that was followed by the heavy showers, thereby ending Australia's innings at 132 for 7 in 19 overs.

The match never resumed and Aaron Finch's side remained 1-0 up in the three-match series and the final game in Sydney will not be played as a series decider.

Thanks to the rain-gods, the struggling hosts will not lose the series, while Team India are in a must-win situation in order to avoid a T20I series defeat.

Brief Score:

Australia: 132-7 in 19 overs (Ben McDermott 32; Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2/20).
