Stocks opened little changed on Wednesday after consumer inflation was subdued in October and new home building slumped as investors awaited a resolution of the debt crisis in Ireland.           
 
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 1.56 points, or 0.01%, at 11,025.06. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 0.09 points, or 0.01%, at 1,178.25. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 1.67 points, or 0.07%, at 2,471.51.
