They say it’s best to ‘forgive and forget’. And rightly so, because to err is human. With Global Forgiveness Day on July 7, there’s no better time. After Hrs compiled a list of people we are willing to forgive for their misgivings, be it giving a poor film performance, making stupid statements or creating a mountain out of a molehill. Meanwhile, there are some whom we just can’t find it in our hearts to forgive and we have our reasons for it too.

Farhan Akhtar

We forgive this multitasking machine for his singing. He should stick to what he does best — directing, screenwriting and acting and give playback singing a raincheck for good! We’re hoping we won’t have to endure his crooning anytime in the near future.

Those who created a furore over Taimur’s name

We forgive all those people who lashed out at parents, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, for naming their baby boy Taimur. As we can all see now, Taimur is growing up to be an adorable baby and the name is growing on us too!

Justin Bieber

We forgive Biebs for lip-synching to most of his chartbusters at his first ever tour in Mumbai, in May, thus leaving thousands of Beliebers disappointed and duped of their hard-earned money (well, actually their parents’ moolah). We hope you don’t repeat this feat in the future, Mr Bieber!

Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone

We forgive these two B-town beauties, who despite garnering so much hype for their Hollywood debut, had films that flopped. The reason we’re forgiving them is because despite their Hollywood debut debacles, they have managed to carve a name for themselves there.

Foreign press

We forgive the foreign media for confusing Deepika Padukone for Priyanka Chopra, after spotting her at the Los Angeles Airport in March this year. We don’t think it’s racism, but just ignorance on their part.

Shraddha Kapoor

We forgive the actress-singer for her poor acting chops! The young lady has done a number of films and still needs a lot of improvement in honing her craft. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for her to redeem herself with her upcoming flick, Haseena Parkar.

Amitabh Bachchan

We forgive Big B for the disastrous Sarkar 3 because we feel bad for the veteran actor, who seems to be a victim of director Ram Gopal Varma’s terrible movies.

Mira Rajput

We forgive the young celebrity wife and mommy for her ignorant views. She’s got a lot of growing up to do! Earlier in March, on the occassion of Women’s Day, Mira spoke at an event about feminism and motherhood. She said, “Feminism isn’t about man versus woman. It’s about equality. There’s a new wave of feminism that’s come, which is about aggression.” As for daughter Misha, she said, “I wouldn’t want to spend one hour with Misha and then rush off to work. Why did I have her? Misha is not a puppy. I want to be there for her.” As a result, she was lambasted on social media for her remarks.

Indian cricket team

We forgive the Indian cricket team for losing against Pakistan at the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, last month. As much as we hate losing to our arch rival nation, we must admit that it was the Pakistan cricket team that played really well that day and their efforts bore fruit.

Rakhi Sawant

We forgive Rakhi for calling make-up guru Mickey Contractor, “India ke sabse bade stylish.” That lady is unintentionally funny!

WE CAN’T FORGIVE

Dhinchak Pooja

We just can’t find it in our heart of hearts to forgive Dhinchak Pooja for coming up with the most atrocious songs and their accompanying videos and shattering our eardrums! We bet even God is on the same page as us on this one...

Ameesha Patel

The actress put up pictures of herself, distributing food to the underprivileged. She captioned the pictures saying, “Happy b’day to all these poor who ate a food lunch today... feels good to have started the b’day week with a small gesture.” In another post she says, “B’day week celebrations started in a small way... feeding 500 poor people lunch at the mandir... felt so good.” While her gesture is noble, the captions are definitely in ‘poor’ taste.

Deepika Padukone’s stylist

We can’t forgive Dippy’s stylist for dressing up the gorgeous actress in a hideous way. Deepika, are you listening? It’s high time you hired someone new, girl!

Vikram Bhatt

We can’t forgive this guy for making horrible films... What’s worse? He’s doing the same with his web-series too!

Vidya Balan

We can’t forgive Vidya Balan for her dressing style. Even after years of receiving flak for it, the lady just doesn’t seem to get it right at all. It’s almost as if everyone’s given up on her completely!

Bipasha Basu

We can’t forgive this Bong beauty for all the ruckus created by her no-show at the India-Pakistan London fashion show in March this year and allegations of misusing organisers’ money and making it a personal vacation. All that spotless reputation that Bips had for over 15 years in Bollywood went down the drain!

Ram Gopal Varma

We cannot forgive Ramu for two main reasons — for making extremely bad movies and secondly, for his distasteful comments on Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi and almost everyone and everything!

Judge Mahesh Chandra Sharma

We can’t forgive this Rajasthan High Court judge for making ridiculous statements - “The peacock is a lifelong brahmachari (celibate). It never has sex with the peahen. The peahen gets pregnant after swallowing the tears of the peacock.”

George RR Martin

We can’t forgive the writing genius for killing so many of our favourite characters on one of TV’s most highest rated and beloved shows, Game of Thrones. Lord Eddard Stark, Hodor, Khal Drogo, Oberyn Martell, Joffrey Baratheon (okay, he deserved it), Ygritte, Tywin Lannister, Princess Shireen Baratheon, Barristan Selmy, Margaery Tyrell, Tommen Baratheon...the list goes on....

Abhijeet Bhattacharya

Just like Twitter, we too can’t forgive Abhijeet Bhattacharya for his obscene comments on the JNU activist Shehla Rashid, homophobic tweets against Karan Johar and Fawad Khan, journalist Swati Chaturvedi and in general spewing nonsense on the microblogging site.

The person who leaked the last photos of the late Vinod Khanna

We can’t forgive the person who leaked the heart-wrenching photos of the veteran actor shortly before his demise. Clearly, it was in bad taste.

Pahlaj Nihalani

We can’t forgive the chairman of Central Board of Film Certification for his many illogical statements and bizarre decisions. Need we say more?
