Who would have thought?
Kareena Kapoor Khan has always been known for her uninhibited candour and straightforwardness. Today she may have learnt the tricks of the game but back in the days she was an absolute motormouth. Right after making her Bollywood debut in JP Dutta's 'Refugee' (2000) opposite Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena appeared on 'Rendezvous with Simi Garewal' - a popular chat show.
Kareena made a number of spicy revealations and shared several anecdotes about her life in the episode. Kareena confessed that if given a chance she would like to go out on a date with Rahul Gandhi!
Watch the video, here:
When Simi Garewal asked, “If you could pick anyone in the world for a date, who would you choose?,” Kareena replied:
“Shall I say this, I don’t know if I should. But I don’t mind it’s controversial. Rahul Gandhi. I’d like to know him. I have been flipping through his pictures in a magazine and wondering what would it be like to have a conversation with him. I come from a family with a lineage of films and he comes from a family with a lineage of politics. So, maybe we’d make an interesting conversation.”
However later in 2009, Kareena went back on her statement and said in an interview, “It is too old and I said it because both our surnames are popular. One day I would like to host him and also want to see him as a PM but definitely, I don't want to date him.” She had broken up with Shahid Kapoor by this time.
We wonder how would have Rahul Gandhi reacted to all this, then. Recenty, Kareena was rumoured to have been requested by some local Congressmen corporator to contest Lok Sabha Elections from Bhopal in the upcoming elections. The 38-year-old actress had later clarified that she has no plans of entering politics and that she would rather focus on acting.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is happily married with actor Saif Ali Khan and also has a son Taimur Ali Khan with him.
