Abbas was once a very popular name in Tamil cinema and he has worked in the industry for 20 years and became an star after the release of his first film.
Abbas’ father wanted him to become an engineer and Abbas was doing mechanical engineering when he started modeling and became a popular name of modeling world. In 1995, Abbas was offered a role in a Tamil film with Tabu. The film proved to be a hit and Abbas became a superstar overnight. Abbas started getting many film offers but after few years his films started flopping at the box-office and slowly filmmakers stopped giving film offers to Abbas. The actor started facing financial crisis and that’s when he went to New Zealand with his family. Abbas once said in an interview to Indian Express that he went bankrupt as was unable to pay even the rent of his house. Abbas said that he was declared bankrupt four times by the bank and he even worked as a mechanic and cleaned the toilets in order to earn money. Abbas now lives in New Zealand.
Abbas hails from West Bengal. He worked with Kamal Haasan in 'Hey Ram', Rajinikanth in 'Paddyappa'. He has worked in superhit films like Kandukondain Kandukondain, Ananddham and Minnale.
