Lipstick Under My Burkha actress Aahana Kumra to spend her birthday in Istanbul

Aahana Kumra, famed for her role in Lipstick Under My Burkha is awaiting her birthday on May 1. Birthdays are special and celebs are no different. Aahana Kumra has proved her love for travelling by taking up projects like It Happened in Hong Kong and On the Go. This year, letting her birthday a good reason to explore, Aahana has decided to pamper herself with a soulful 10 day trip to Istanbul. 

Other than being an avid traveller, what her fans don't know about the actress is that she loves poetry, and ancient art. Aahana recently has taken to Rumi's writings. Since the time she got gifted her first book on Rumi's work, it has become a source of inspiration for her on gloomy days.

Istanbul is a blissful place and has tourist attractions like Galata Mevlevihanesi i.e. Rumi's museum. As Istanbul meets both her artistic and wanderlust requisites, she decided to tick this off her expedition list. Isn't it a great way of bringing in her birthday?

Aahana says, "Travelling in the past few years by myself has made me realise that I'm in the best company possible because when you travel solo you realise a lot of things about yourself that you otherwise don't understand because when you are travelling with other people you tend to go on other people's plans. Travelling solo helps you to  spend time with yourself and think about life. It being my birthday I chose a place from where Rumi comes from because there is a cosmic connection that I have found. I'm a very hectic sort of a person and I believe he has helped me calm down. When I read his writings it really calms me down. So I'm really excited to go and see this magical place."
