Priyanka Chopra has stepped away from the operations of her restaurant Sona, situated in New York City. The actress had opened the restaurant back in 2001 in partnership with businessman Maneesh Goyal. However, a new report has stated that the actress has now opted out of the partnership. The restaurant will continue to be operational, its management has assured.

On Wednesday, People Magazine reported that Priyanka will no longer be connected to the restaurant. “Priyanka has stepped away from her partnership at Sona," a representative of the actress confirmed to the publication. They also added, "Stepping away from Sona allows her to broaden these ambitions on a more global scale, and she’s excited about the possibilities that await."

The restaurant shall remain functional. Its co-founder and Priyanka's former business partner, Maneesh K. Goyal said in a statement, "We're grateful for her partnership and support. While she will no longer be involved as a creative partner moving forward, she remains in the Sona family and we are excited for our respective new chapters ahead." Even though the restaurant is no longer under Priyanka's name, its establishment, food and infrastructure are all her work. Goyal said in this regard, "Priyanka has her fingerprints all over Sona."

Besides this, Priyanka still has her luxury brand Sona Home, selling authentic Indian home decor. She also owns Anomaly, a hair care brand focusing on natural and cruelty-free products. Purple Pebble Pictures, a production house set up in 2015 is also under her name.

Meanwhile, the actress has wrapped production for her new movie Heads of State. She was supposed to begin filming Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa but has opted out of the movie due to her Hollywood commitments. Priyanka was last seen with daughter Malti Marie, cheering for her husband Nick Jonas at the Jonas Brothers US tour.
