The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) Awards were given out in Melbourne on Friday, honouring the best of film and OTT content  from India on a global stage. And it was Telugu film Sita Ramam that took home the top prize with wins also for Rani Mukerji, Vjay Varma, and Rajshri Deshpande in the acting category. Independent film Agra sprung up a surprise by taking home two major awards, including the Best Actor.

The awards ceremony, held at the iconic Hamer Hall in Melbourne in all its grandeur, witnessed the convergence of artists, filmmakers, and enthusiasts. While the jury awards honoured the excellence in cinema and streaming over the last twelve months, the honorary awards recognised the popular and pathbreaking aspects of the industry. It was here that Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan triumphed, winning the People’s Choice Awards.

Best Indie Film: Agra

Best Short Film - People’s Choice: Connection Kya Hain by Nilesh Naik

Best Short Film -  Australia: Home by Mark Russel Bernard
