Deepika Padukone is leaving no stone unturned in prepping for her role in the upcoming film, Chhapaak. The actor will be seen playing the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in the film being helmed by Meghna Gulzar. With Chhapaak, DP will be making her debut as a producer as well. The actor is making her best to get into the skin of her character for the hard-hitting flick which is set to go on floors next month.

Talking about Deepika's prep for Chhapaak, a source stated to a daily, "Deepika first searched websites to learn how the [acid attack] survivors were affected. She is also looking up all available material (photographs/videos) on the internet about Laxmi to thoroughly research her life. In fact, Laxmi herself has been very supportive, even sharing material on her journey that is not available anywhere else or is not yet out in the public domain. Deepika was also provided DVDs and pen drives, containing material about 10 survivors, by the makers of the project. The actor is making sure that every detail is in place."

Chhapaak also stars Vikrant Massey as the male lead. Deepika touted this film as 'A story of trauma and triumph and the unquashable human spirit'.

In the film, we will the dimpled beauty in a never-seen-before look which Meghna called as 'disfigured avatar'. The filmmaker had also revealed that there is an uncanny similarity between the survivor and Deepika. This is the first outing of Deepika and Meghna.
