WATCH: Water pipe explosion in Ukraine destroys cars and buildings in its proximity

A recent video of an underground water pipe in the Ukrainian capital Kiev bursting, and subsequently causing the destruction of everything in its vicinity has gone viral on social media.

According to NDTV, the road in Kiev initially trembled and before anyone could react, the pipe under the road exploded causing damage to people and property. CCTV footage captured the incident which the road shook initially followed by a blast and a shower of sludge.

Surveillance footage also showed a woman busy on her phone who was just crossing by the road when the explosion took off. What happened to the woman after the explosion is unknown as the camera went dark. Another camera shows a street flooded and a resident coming out of her house to see what had happened. Later, the video went viral on various social media platforms. Some locals even claim that the water levels went up to the seventh floor of the buildings around the pipe.

The explosion caused a lot of damage in its area of impact with broken windows, damaged cars etc. Local journalists also took some pictures of the destruction caused by the pipe burst. Though it is unclear what caused the accident, it is believed that no individual was injured in this accident.
