Rising Star 2 Grand Finale: Hemant Brijwasi declared as winner, beats Rohanpreet and Vishnumaya

The grand finale of Rising Star 2 took place on Sunday night and it was as exciting as the season, which had some great contestants. While a lot of them made their ways into our hearts, only four contestants rose to the top and made it to the grand finale. 

The four finalists were Hemant Brijwasi, Vishnumaya Ramesh, Rohanpreet Singh and Zaid Ali but it was Hemant Brijwasi who won the show and took home the coveted trophy. Hemant outperformed all the three contestants in the first round itself while Zaid Ali was eliminated. Undoubtedly, the other three contestants did put a tough fight against the winner during the finale episode.

Meanwhile, the last round saw Rohanpreet taking to the stage as he got 78 per cent votes after singing Khuda Jaane from Bachna Ae Haseeno. Vishnumaya went on the stage after Rohanpreet and sang Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka from Devdas but the latter won more votes. Thus, it became a clear fight between Rohanpreet and Hemant.  As soon as Hemant took to the stage, he mesmerised the audience with his performance on Alvida from Life in a Metro. He managed to get 83 per cent votes and clearly won the show. He certainly looked elated to have been declared as the winner.

For the unversed, Hemant has also won Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs in 2009. and has also participated in India's Got Talent and Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar 2 before.

Interestingly, the reality talent show became popular ever since its inception and managed to garner a successful viewership. The show also saw the trio of Shankar Mahadevan, Monali Thakur and Diljit Dosanjh forming the judges' panel. The episode where the contestants paid tribute to Sridevi by inviting singers Kavita Krishnamurthy was also one of the highest watched episodes of the show. Well, we certainly can’t get over the breathtaking performances of the contestants on Rising Star 2.
