Manchester City trashed Chelsea 6-0 claiming the top spot in the Premier League table once again. With the goal difference increasing, they send Liverpool back to the second spot.

The credit for today’s match would go to Sergio Aguero's hattrick. The Argentina international became the sixth player to register 200 goal involvements with a single club in the Premier League after scoring the club’s third goal. He surpassed Tommy Johnson and Eric Brook as the club's most prolific player in league fixtures.

The goals were Aguero’s 158th, 159th and 160th Premier League strikes in a City shirt, to go with his 41 assists.

He also equalled Alan Shearer's Premier League record of 11 hat-tricks following his 56-minute treble. Aguero struck twice in the first half at the Etihad Stadium and added a third with a penalty after the interval.

The 30-year-old's dominant performance has marked his second treble of the week, having inflicted similar damage on Arsenal earlier.

About the hattrick table, Robbie Fowler is third on the leaderboard with nine and Tottenham's Harry Kane is with eight and is the only other active Premier League player to have notched more than three.

About others, Michael Owen and Thierry Henry finished their careers with eight apiece, Wayne Rooney with seven and Luis Suarez managed six for Liverpool.
