HCL Tech on August 15 announced that it has been chosen by Cricket Australia (CA) for its next phase of digital transformation. This exciting development comes shortly after HCL Tech secured a $2.1-billion contract with Verizon Business.

These recent deals and renewal announcements come on the heels of HCL Tech's somewhat subdued performance in Q1FY24. However, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director C Vijayakumar remains optimistic, stating that the company anticipates a strong deal pipeline in the coming quarters.

Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the chairperson of HCL Technologies. She is the first woman to lead a listed IT company in India. She is the only child of HCL founder and billionaire businessman Shiv Nadar.

Additionally, she serves as a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, an organization committed to promoting education, and has established some of the top colleges and schools in India.

Roshni Nadar’s net worth is estimated to be around Rs 84,330 crore, which makes her one of the richest women in India. Her primary source of income is her role as the chairperson of the multi-billion dollar tech firm.

Under this new contract, HCL Tech will assist CA in providing immersive digital experiences to fans, players, and partners worldwide. The company will also offer automation, analytics (including AI and ML), and DevOps for Cricket Australia's Live and PlayCricket apps.

It is worth noting that CA has been a loyal customer of HCL Tech for their digital transformation needs since 2019.

“HCL Tech has supported us in transforming our tech stack and improving Australian Cricket’s participant and fan digital experiences. The extension of this partnership and the world-class technology it provides will help cricket maintain and improve its place as the leading sport in the country,” Donald Elliott, General Manager, Australian Cricket Technology, said.

HCL Tech has successfully undergone digital transformation for CA's digital assets, which include cricket.com.au, the Cricket Australia Live app, and MyCricket (now PlayCricket). Additionally, they have played a crucial role in digitizing and streamlining various community cricket processes. As a result of this partnership, CA's live app has become the leading summer sporting application in Australia, with over 100 million yearly sessions.

In an exciting development, on August 10, HCL Tech announced a significant achievement - securing a six-year, $2.1 billion deal with Verizon Business. This deal entails providing managed network services to Verizon's global clients.
