MUMBAI
Mumbai foundation organises meet in Kolhapur to help senior citizens find companions.
Lonely senior citizens looking for a life partner will have an opportunity to choose one at the meet organised by
Kumar Deshpande Foundation in Kolhapur on September 18.
The Mumbai-based
foundation has been working towards remarriage of lonely senior citizens who are divorced or have lost their spouse.
The meet in Kolhapur aims at bringing such citizens
together, so that they can choose a life partner for company in their twilight years. It will be held at Hotel Haripriya Grand, Rajarampuri,
Chhatrapati Rajaram Road, from 9.30 am to 3 pm.
With the success of earlier such meets in Mumbai, Kolhapur and Hyderabad, the foundation formed a ‘companion club’ for the elderly. Senior citizens can become members on payment of a registration fee of Rs501.
Men and women above 45 years of age, from Maharashtra or other states, can participate in the meet, with an entry fee of Rs200. Those seeking membership of the club need not pay the entry fee.
The participants are required to bring their identity card/ driving licence/ voting card along with two passport size photos.
Bhalchandra Nikarge, who works for the foundation in Kolhapur, said the participants will be guided about the legal aspects by advocates Dilip Mangsule and BS Patil, while Dr Ravi Shinde and Dr Dilip Shah will speak on health care.
Earlier meets organised by the foundation helped hundreds of senior citizens from India and abroad in getting married or finding a companion. For more information, call 9819549899 or 9224678351 or 022-67527998.
