Cartoon Network heroes Kris, Ben 10 and the ever-popular Johnny Bravo joined the children to spread the cheer. Together with the kids, they cut a birthday cake, took pictures and danced, keeping true to the spirit of the channel – to entertain children.
Amid cakes, games and cartoon characters coming to life, the Cartoon Network on Friday celebrated its 20th year of entertaining the country's little ones. Over 40 children were invited to participate in the celebrations. While the kids were excited to have an evening of fun, their glee reached the zenith when they saw two-dimensional cartoon characters come among them.
Cartoon Network heroes Kris, Ben 10 and the ever-popular Johnny Bravo joined the children to spread the cheer. Together with the kids, they cut a birthday cake, took pictures and danced, keeping true to the spirit of the channel – to entertain children.
Five-year-old Rehan F Shaikh said, "I like Kris, but I love Oggy from Oggy and the Cockroaches."
Rehan's father, Faiyaz Shaikh, said, "This creates so much enthusiasm among children. These kids always see these characters on TV screen. Today, they are seeing them in real. This programme is an opportunity for the children to get closer to the reel life characters and also their favorite ones."
Snehal Kamble (14) said, "I love watching cartoons. These characters are nice to watch. I came for this program because I was excited to see the real cartoon characters."
Parents were too happy to see their wards meeting the characters that they had seen only on TV, something they never got the chance to do themselves.
Sisters-in-law Vishakha Parlikar and Harsha Parlikar came together. "I was invited by my sister-in-law to this celebration. When I told my kids that they were going to meet cartoons, they were excited. In our times, we only used to watch Tom and Jerry. It is amazing how they have come up with different interesting characters. Since my children are having their summer vacation, they keep on watching cartoons the whole day. They enjoyed the programme it a lot," said Vishakha
Celebrate Cartoon Network's birthday with the best of old and new cartoons! Tune in to CN from Mon-Fri at 11 AM throughout May to watch Flintstones, Horrid Henry, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Oggy and the Cockroaches and many more. Kids can participate in the birthday contest and win exciting prizes.
