Acidity is a problem that is most commonplace and one of the most common ailments that affect us is a form of indigestion called acidity where gastric juices are over-produced in our stomach. The over-secretion of the gastric juices can be very hazardous as they eat away the stomach lining, leading to gastritis and peptic ulcers.

There are many medicines as well as home remedies to treat acidity but sometimes nothing helps to subside the problem. Some lifestyle changes are also necessary for getting rid of acidity. Take a look at some of the ways to prevent acidity:

Don't sit in a place for too long

Acidity is formed in the stomach due to prolonged sitting. This habit is more frequently seen in people who lead a sedentary lifestyle. Sitting in one place does not let the food to digest which results in the over-secretion of digestive juices in the stomach. Therefore, moving around after sitting at a place for 30-40 minutes is absolutely necessary.

Don’t skip breakfast
Eating healthy and at the right time is paramount in maintaining of body fluids. Skipping breakfast and staying hungry for prolonged hours leads to acidity. Eating your breakfast is the best way to begin your day and keeps indigestion in check. It also makes you healthy.

Quit over-eating
Many people have a habit of eating more food than they need. Doing so takes time to digest food and leads to acidity. In addition, eating more can cause many more physical problems. So always eat small portions at regular intervals.

Avoid fried food
Fried food is a favourite among many, but it causes several health hazards. Instead, people should opt for roasted or boiled food that will prevent indigestion and acidity.
