KL Rahul is facing a torrid time as skipper of the Kings XI Punjab franchise in IPL 2020, with the team winning just one game out of seven and facing a must-win situation in every game from this point in time. Kings XI Punjab square off against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Sharjah on Thursday and a loss could see their play-off hopes rely on mathematical possibilities. However, the grim situation has not affected KL Rahul’s humour and during an Instagram session that was organised by PUMA, KL Rahul gave a hilarious response.

When a question was asked to him by Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli about what is the one rule that he would like to change in IPL or Twenty20 cricket, KL Rahul took the name of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli.

“To start off, I think I would ask IPL to ban you and AB for next year. Once you have achieved a certain amount of runs, I think, the people should say ‘it’s enough’. Once you get 5000 runs it’s enough, now you guys let the others do the work,” Rahul jokingly said.

Kohli, ABD the best

In the last two encounters, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have shown their class against Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Virat Kohli displayed superhuman levels of fitness and his vintage acceleration of the innings was on display against MS Dhoni’s team as his magnificent 90 helped Royal Challengers Bangalore get the better of Chennai Super Kings.

In the game against Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah, AB de Villiers gave an exhibition of batting as he blasted 73 off 33 balls and the knock included five fours and six sixes. The knock by AB de Villiers saw Virat Kohli label him ‘superman’.

Kohli managed to score 973 runs in one edition of the IPL in 2016 which included four centuries. Kohli has scored over 5000 runs and has the second-most number of centuries behind Chris Gayle. A win for Royal Challengers Bangalore will put them in second position behind Delhi Capitals.
