Sunrisers Hyderabad were progressing well in their chase of 164 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020 clash in Dubai. Jonny Bairstow hit an attacking fifty and he was sharing a magnificent partnership with Manish Pandey. However, Yuzvendra Chahal took three wickets in two overs as the match turned completely in favour of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rashid Khan, who had impressed with his batting in the CPL 2020, was still at the crease and he gave some hope to the Sunrisers Hyderabad team.

However, disaster struck in the 17th over when Abhishek Sharma was batting with Rashid Khan. Sharma worked a ball to the leg side and tried to comeback for the second. But, Rashid Khan was ball-watching and he was running on the same line as Sharma without seeing him. When he saw Sharma, it was too late and both batsmen had a nasty mid-pitch collision.

Sharma was run-out and Rashid Khan was lying on the ground and everybody was worried. However, after the concussion tests were done, Rashid was fit to bat but he fell to Navdeep Saini for 6. However, when he fell, there was speculation that Rashid Khan was not 100 percent.

Narrow loss for Sunrisers Hyderabad

Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villiers’ fifties gave Royal Challengers Bangalore a fighting total of 163/5. In response, Jonny Bairstow smashed an aggressive fifty but led by Yuzvendra Chahal’s three wickets and consistent strikes by Navdeep Saini and Shivam Dube, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost eight wickets for 32 runs and lost by 10 runs. Commenting on the win, AB de Villiers said that it was a team effort.

“Very happy. Worked very hard for that win. For a change, we are on the right side of a close game early in the season As a 36-year-old you do doubt yourself, but we did work very hard in the training and I am very happy with the basics that we have done. Very competitive, the young players coming and looking like international players is really exciting to watch. Padikkal is a shy and quiet guy but I don't have to say much really, he looks like a really good talent,” de Villier said.
