Since a few days, the state has been witnessing a huge spurt in terror activity.

On a related note, the body of Jammu and Kashmir police constable, who was kidnapped by terrorists in Shopian district, was found on Friday morning by locals of Kulgam's Pariwan.

Resident of Vehil village in Shopian, Javaid Ahmad Dar, was abducted from a local medical shop on Thursday.

Sources said four unknown terrorists abducted Dar on gunpoint and whisked him to an unknown destination.

The terrorists were traveling in a car when they abducted Dar outside his home at 9.30 pm on Thursday.

A massive hunt, which was launched on Thursday night failed to track down the kidnappers and rescue the cop.

Earlier in June, bullet-riddled body of Indian Army jawan Aurangzeb was found at Gussu village, about 10 km from Kalampora, in Pulwama district. Aurangzeb belonged to 4 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry and was posted at the 44 Rashtriya Rifles camp at Shadimarg in Shopian.

Terrorists were also seen grilling Aurangzeb moments before murder. A chilling video of 24-year-old riffleman had sent shock waves in the Kashmir Valley.

A day after the killing, the terrorists released the 1.15 minute video on June 15 in which they are heard questioning the Aurangzeb about the encounters. "Yes I am rifleman and my duty was on the post," Aurangzeb was seen replying to the attacker's question, who was not visible in the video.

Terrorists were heard asking whether he was the guard of Major Rohit Shukla who was injured during an encounter in which Hizbul Mujahedeen Commander Sameer Ahmad Bhat alias Sameer Tiger was killed on April 30. “Who desecrated the bodies of Wasim and Talha”, asked the terrorists. “No I did not”, replied the Aurangzeb.

Earlier, Aurangzeb's family had made an emotional appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir government to eliminate militancy from the state and avenge his death.
