According to directions from chief minister M Karunanidhi, Group C and D employees would take home a bonus of Rs3,000, while Group A and B staff would be paid Rs1,000.

Tamil Nadu government today announced bonus for its employees on the occasion of Pongal festial, costing Rs272 crore for the state exchequer.
According to directions from chief minister M Karunanidhi, Group C and D employees would take home a bonus of Rs3,000, while Group A and B staff would be paid Rs1,000, a government release here said.
Pensioners woul be awarded an extra sum of Rs500, the release said adding persons such as Anganwadi workers, village assistants and those on special time-scale of pay, would be paid a bonus of Rs1,000, the release said.
