Accusing the government of providing false information under oath to the Supreme Court regarding CAG report to get a manipulated judgment, the Congress on Sunday urged the apex court to recall its judgment on Rafale deal and issue contempt and perjury notices to the government.

Congress leader Anand Sharma alleged that the government was guilty of committing breach of privilege of both Houses of Parliament by claiming that the CAG report on the Rafale jet pricing had been presented to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament.

Sharma said apex court judgment is not only self contradictory, but also has factual inaccuracies and aversions as it as based on false submissions by the Government.

The judgment is based on that premise that the government had shared the pricing details with the CAG, which has finalised the report submitted through the PAC and the redacted portions have been shared with the Parliament and is in public domain, said Sharma.

He also lashed out at the Government's curative petition saying it adds insult to the injury caused.

"What the government is seeking to do, instead of apologising to the Supreme Court for having committed perjury and contempt of the Court, it has heaped further insult by telling the Chief Justice and his fellow judges that they do not understand English language,"added Sharma.
