Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted people of the World Radio Day on Tuesday.
‘On #WorldRadioDay, I convey my greetings to all those associated with the world of radio, which includes those working in the industry and the listeners. May this medium always remain a focal point of learning, discovering, entertaining and growing together,’ PM Modi said in a tweet.

He also took the opportunity to talk about his monthly radio programme Mann ki Baat. ‘The radio brings us closer and I am continuously experiencing this through #MannKiBaat,’ he said.
Apart from the Prime Minister, Union Minister Smriti Irani also extended her wishes on the special occasion. Radio is one the most powerful mode of communication and brings colours of life to the fore through the power of voice and sound, Union minister Smriti Irani said.

World Radio Day is observed on February 13, the day United Nations Radio was established in 1946. This year's theme is 'Radio and Sports'.
