'Coming soon...': Railways minister shares inner look of Vande Bharat sleeper coaches; see pics here

Union Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has shared pictures of the upcoming Vande Bharat sleeper trains. As seen in the picture, the Vande Bharat sleeper trains will have two and three-tier options. The design of the berths is entirely different from those in Rajdhani and other premium trains.

Taking it to X (formerly Twitter), he shared the pictures with the caption, “Concept train - Vande Bharat (sleeper version). Coming soon… early 2024.” Check the pictures here:

According to reports, the new design of Vande Bharat sleeper coaches will be manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory(ICF) and Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML). The Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be a significant addition to the Indian Railways fleet, as they will allow passengers to travel long distances on these high-speed trains overnight.

Currently, Vande Bharat Express trains are operational on over 30 routes. The first Vande Bharat Express, between New Delhi and Varanasi, was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2019.

 

The Ministry of Railways has released its new all-India railway timetable, titled “Trains at a Glance (TAG),” effective October 1, 2023. The new “Trains at a Glance” is also available on Indian Railways' official website
