Senior Congress leader R P N Singh today alleged that the Centre has "failed" to handle internal security issues in naxal-affected areas and in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The BJP is celebrating three years of being in office at a time when the country is facing internal security and foreign policy issues with Pakistan and China," he said here.

When the UPA was in power, the BJP had created an uproar that the government had failed to address internal security issues, Singh said.

"In fact, on the internal security and foreign policy fronts, the current government in the Centre has knelt down before Pakistan," he said.

The Congress had made efforts to bring peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir, and was better in dealing with internal security issues, Singh said.

He claimed that 172 terrorist attacks have been reported in the country in last three years, of which 12 were severe attacks.

"More than 570 jawans have died in three years and more than 1,300 cease fire violations have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir in last three years," Singh claimed.

He said, "Our security establishments are being attacked and they call the ISI to get it probed. Is it nationalism or something to boast about with a 56-inch chest." "At present, more than 9,000 posts for officers, 25,000 for JCOs and 52,000 for jawans," Singh said.

The defence budget is being reduced and even the allocated budget is not being utilised properly, the Congress leader alleged.

"BJP agents are being caught in Madhya Pradesh and Assam for anti-national activities. BJP MLAs are found attending wedding function of Dawood Ibrahim's family members in Maharashtra and they teach lessons of nationalism," Singh said.

The Centre has no policy to deal with naxalism and China, which is in the process of building an economic corridor, Singh said.

BJP supports the 'Make-in-India' campaign but in fact imports of Chinese goods have increased in last three years of BJP rule, he claimed.
