Over a million tickets of 'Avengers: Endgame' have already been sold out in advance bookings for the MCU film, which will hit the theatres in India on April 26, 2019
The much anticipated Marvel Studios film Avengers: Endgame, which marks the culmination of about 21 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies, is all set to hit the theatres in India on April 26. The movie has already sold out over a million tickets in advance bookings. Touted to become a never-before-seen record-shattering phenomenon in the country, some cinema theatre chains are looking at screening Avengers: Endgame 24x7, i.e., way past midnight as well.
With the immense pre-release buzz and anticipation among the fans in the country, cinema hall owners are leaving no stones unturned to milk the opportuninty to cash in on the footfalls. A report on BollywoodHungama suggests that some of them will be having shows of Avengers: Endgame even post midnight.
The report quoted a source from a multiplex chain as saying, "The permission came through today and we were informed of the same verbally. The permission however is given only for Avengers: Endgame. We are now sitting down to chalk the programming for these post-midnight shows. However, as of now we are planning to have these shows only in A-tier cities and especially in IMAX and 4DX versions.” The report also added that Carnival IMAX Wadala (Mumbai) has opened a new show slot for 3.20 am.
Ticket booking app BoolMyShow has reportedly sold out a million tickets of Avengers: Endgame in just over a day, with about 18 tickets being booked per second, and this is even before the film has hit the silver screens. The film stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, MArk Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Brie Larson among others. The movie will be released in India on April 26, in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
