Global star and Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and American singer-actor Nick Jonas recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary on December 1. The two, who tied the knot in a grand ceremony at Jodhpur's Umaid Bhawan Palace in 2018, took to their respective social media handles to share a few unseen photos from the wedding ceremonies -- Christian and Hindu -- to wish each other on their special day.
The wedding, which was preceded and followed by multiple parties at India and abroad, was covered extensively by the media and social media users couldn't stop going gaga about Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's chemistry.
Speaking about how massively the two international stars trended on social media back in the day, it must be noted that during the couple's wedding festivities, in fact, after the duo's engagement to be specific, netizens had coined a moniker for Nick Jonas -- 'national jiju'.
Talking about the same at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit on Friday, Nick Jonas said, "I think Priyanka is a sister to the country, in a way, so I'm happy to be sister's husband."
Priyanka, however, interjected to say, "I became the sister when you married me! I wasn't before." She continued, "I think the name was coined during our wedding. On social media, we started seeing 'national jiju' trending everywhere, it was so cute."
Ever since Nick and Priyanka's wedding, the couple has visited India several times. In fact, Nick had celebrated Holi - the festival of colours, in March, earlier this year in the country. The two, however, flew back to LA before the lockdown was imposed.
“In our 12-13 years of working and touring, we’d never made it over to India. It was significant and special that my first trip was with Priyanka. We’ve been back many times now, and each trip has been such a great experience,” Nick said at the summit.
