Pune's Birla Hospital ushers in cancer care

Chinchwad-based Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital (ABMH), the multi-specialty health care facility, announced a joint venture (JV) with International Oncology on Wednesday to establish a world-class cancer care centre by leveraging the strengths of both partners.

The directors and trustees of Aditya Birla Health Services Ltd, BL Shah and Ashwin Kothari; International Oncology managing director, Pradeep K Jaisingh and ABMH CEO, Dr SP Singh addressed the media.

“While ABMH is a one of the leading multi-specialty hospitals with excellent infrastructure in the region, International Oncology is a global cancer care and research company engaged in setting up world-class cancer centres and delivering top quality comprehensive cancer care,” Jaisingh said.

He said the JV is poised to bring ABMH on the map of leading cancer care hospitals in the country.

International Oncology is setting up a chain of such centres in various cities in India with the first two being set up at Fortis Hospital in Noida and Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai.

These centres provide comprehensive cancer care, including medical oncology, entire range of surgical oncology and state-of-the-art radiation facility. International Oncology has a strategic collaboration with Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York.
