With the shooting of Piku in progress, Bollywood's most successful content-driven producer-director duo Ronnie Lahiri and Shoojit Sircar have decided to go easy on the promotional part of their upcoming rom-com in Hindi Running Shadi.com.

Ronnie, having stakes in the Northeast United FC, told PTI how they execute a script. "We go to the floor only when all the shots are planned and decided beforehand in the hardbound script and we are absolutely confident how and in what way it will shape up even before camera rolls," he said.

Coming to Runway Shadi.com, Ronnie would christen it as a quirky, nice romantic story. "It has been directed by first-timer Amit Roy with a fresh cast Amit Sadh of Kai Po Che fame and Taapsee Pannu of Chashme Baddor in the lead roles.

"Our bottomline seems the same here as in our two back-to-back hits Vicky Donor and Madrasa Café. A topic, a subject the audience can relate to, either a tale on sperm donors or terrorism or a hilarious love story told in a refreshing way.

"Me, who looks after the creative part in production, and Shoojit always back new directors to realize their dreams under our banner. 'Amit Roy is a friend for years. So when he came to Shoojit with this script, we decided to produce under our banner, Rising Sun Films," Ronnie said.

About re-teaming with the Big B, Ronnie said, "Shoebite was me and Shoojit's first tryst with Mr Bachchan.

He is one inspirational person whose punctuality, dedication and hard work compliment his stature. Both me and Shoojit have the opportunity to interact with him and feel humbled in his presence. And he appears to be so patient and cooperative always."

Ronnie, who had first teamed up with Shoojit in 1999 for producing ad and short films, feels they have completed the cycle and roots as Bengalees by producing an essentially Bengal-centric flick Open Tee Bioscope which fosters the nostalgia of the days of 'adda', para football and DD I/II-Bangladesh TV sops in the bygone 90s."

"Shoojit as one having hailed from North 24 Parganas district in Bengal and me from a North East town we have traversed a long distance. But helping set up the Northeast United as owner and producing Aparajita Tumi and Open Tee Bioscope back-to-back we feel rooted to the place and culture we belong to," he said.

We have also plans to produce a film on the now-forgotten football legend Shibdas Bhaduri whose barefoot exploits on field had led the Mohun Bagan team's victory against their British opponents in the 1911 IFA Shield final, it is in the pre-production stage, Ronnie said about the ambitious flick to be directed by Shoojit with friend John Abraham in lead.
