There was a speculation over who will win over director AR Murugadoss between rivals Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. But it seems that Shah Rukh may just pip Salman in obtaining Murugadoss’ next Hindi film after Ghajini.

Sources say that soon after Murugadoss broke all box office records with Ghajini, Shah Rukh had given him the green signal to rope him in for a film.

“They have had a couple of meetings and Murugadoss and Shah Rukh have agreed to do a film. The script and the cast will have to be locked in before making the formal announcement,” says a source.

However, it is not as if Salman might completely lose out on Murugadoss because the plan with Salman is also on the cards. “If talks fructify, Murugadoss may do a film with Salman in 2013. At the moment, the Ghajini director is under contract with a leading foreign studio for their next film. However, as soon he wraps that up, he may look at doing a film with Shah Rukh.”

Murugadoss will be doing a film with Salman and it will be full-on action movie. Both Salman and Murugadoss will be paid a bomb for the film. Though Salman hasn’t yet signed on the project but more or less the meetings are over. It seems that the film with Shah Rukh seems more feasible right now,” says a source.

Shah Rukh apparently is planning to do a full-on action film. “SRK wants to do an out-and-out action film with a South director, and Murugadoss seemed to be an obvious choice,” the source added.
Murugadoss, however, will be busy directing another film and he is expected to wrap that up by next year. The film with Salman will go on the floors by 2013 if things go according to plan.
