Now, Veena Malik does an item number!

After her rather controversial nude picture on the cover of a fashion magazine, the Pakistani actor and controversy’s favourite child Veena Malik is ready to ‘stump’ audiences with her oomphy moves. The Pak import will soon be seen dancing with oodles of attitude in the item song Channo from the film Gali Gali Chor Hai by director Rumy Jafry. Apparently, the director had approached Pussycat Dolls’ lead singer Nicole Scherzinger for the same item number.

After refusing several offers to do item numbers in Bollywood, Veena took up Channo, as the song caught her fancy in the first hearing itself.

“From the styling to the set up, from the tune, to the choreography everything in this item number is different. After all it’s a Nitin Manmohan film and hence I chose to do this item song,” says Veena.

When asked director Rumy Jafry on casting Veena for this song, he says, “Veena was never exposed to item songs, but I knew she has that groove in her. I was sure she’ll do justice to the song. The song is shaping up very well and Veena has given her best performance.”

Talking about the song, an insider reveals, that Veena not just gave full attention to her choreography, but also her costume and added her own inputs too and even insisted on wearing a nathani for the song.

“Nathani is a very important ornament in Pakistan and it gives a very beautiful look. So on my request we added a nathani to my look,” says Veena.
