'Madras Cafe' actress Leena Paul arrested in Rs 10 crore cheating case

Actress Leena Maria Paul and her partner Shekhar Chandrashekhar have been reportedly arrested by Mumbai Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in connection with a Rs 10 crore cheating case. 

According to reports, the duo has been sent to police custody till June 4. Four others who reportedly helped them in the cheating case have also been arrested.

The actress and her partner began an investment firm had reportedly promised to return 10 times the investments made by their clients within a short span of time.

But they failed to keep their promises, and after repeated complaints registered at Mumbai crime branch, the duo was arrested.

According to reports, this is not the first time the actress has been arrested in a cheating case. 

In 2013, the actress was arrested for allegedly cheating a Chennai bank of Rs 19 crore.

Leena, who starred with John Abraham in Madras Cafe, is a popular South Indian actress.
