Lyricist Gulzar is doing the Hindi translation of two poems of Rabindranath Tagore for Subhash Ghai's upcoming Bengali film, Nouka Dubi, directed by Rituparno Ghosh.
The film will release on the 150th birth anniversary of the Nobel-laureate, on May 6, as a tribute, as it is based on one of Tagore's own stories.
The film's Hindi version is called Kashmakash.
Gulzar, an acclaimed poet himself, is well-versed with Bengali. He was impressed with the Bengali version of Nouka Dubi and readily accepted the offer to pen the lyrics for Hindi version, sources said.
Shreya Ghosal will be singing the songs in both Bengali and Hindi versions.
