At a recent concert, which was a preview of his latest album, singer-composer Ashutosh Phatak created a first-of-its-kind virtual performance on-stage.

Singer Monica Dogra, who has sung one of the songs with Ashutosh in the album, was not present to perform at the show.

But Ashutosh created a projection of the singer giving a feeling she was actually peforming live in front of the audience.

“I am planning to use a lot of technology in my shows where I will perform songs from this project. For the first time, I created the virtual image of Monica singing which I projected on the stage while her track was playing. The effect was quite real and it actually felt like she was there,” says Ashutosh.

This album is a mix of songs, with female singers Anushka Manchanda, Monica Dogra and Suman Shridhar.

Ashutosh plans to create virtual versions of the other singers too. “I want to take this kind of virtual projection to the streets. I plan to do it for larger audiences,” he ends.
