Ahead of Eid al-Adha, the district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar has issued a notice that the sacrifice of animals should only take place at the designated places and strict action will be taken if anyone is found doing it publicly.

The notice was issued in a meeting of the district administration with the police officials ahead of the festival. In the meeting, the DM BN Singh instructed the officials to ensure that the remaining parts of sacrificed animals should not be disposed of or thrown in ponds, drains, open grounds and public places. He also ordered the electricity department to ensure no power cuts on the day at places where people offer prayers and the areas where they live.

According to an official, the DM also instructed that stray animals should not be allowed near the places of prayers like Masjid. The administration ordered the officials to repair the roads near places of worship and also make arrangement for the drinking water at those places.

“People should give information about any crime so that police should act on that as soon as possible while the administration also instructed the traffic police to ensure smooth vehicle movement around the places of worship,” said Ajay Pal Sharma, Senior superintendent of police (Gautam Budh Nagar).

Strict actions will be taken against the people who will be found spreading rumours on the occasion. Police will have a strong vigil around sensitive places.
