In a thrilling Super 4 encounter of the Asia Cup between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, Babar Azam and his team engineered a remarkable comeback in Colombo. Pakistan's captain won the toss and chose to field, allowing Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill to establish a solid opening partnership of 122 runs. Both batsmen achieved half-centuries before Pakistan's Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi struck quickly to dismiss both openers.

India was at 147/2 in 24.1 overs when rain abruptly interrupted play. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who was making his comeback after an injury, were at the crease.

During the game, a lively exchange occurred between Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and fast bowler Haris Rauf regarding an LBW appeal against Rahul. This incident unfolded in the 24th over when Rauf's delivery struck Rahul on the back thigh. The ball seemed to be heading over the stumps, but Rauf believed otherwise and even raised his finger. After the initial decision of not out, Rauf turned to Babar for a review, the last one available to Pakistan.

However, Babar was convinced that the ball was missing the stumps. In the process, Rauf almost persuaded Babar to opt for the review, but the Pakistan skipper continued to signal that the ball was sailing over the wickets. Observing this comical exchange between the two, both Rahul and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan couldn't contain their laughter.

An on-air commentator remarked, "It's important to be sensible in such situations. It clearly looked high." To this, former Indian player Deep Dasgupta, also part of the commentary team, responded, "Babar is playfully teasing Haris Rauf; there's no way you can even ask for a review in this case”.
