Virat Kohli removes ‘Diwali Tips’ link after getting brutally trolled on social media

Kohli on Sunday posted a message on Twitter announcing that he will be sharing “personal tips” soon on how to celebrate “meaningful” Diwali.

Diwali is, without doubt, one of the biggest festivals of India and with Diwali around the corner, millions of Indians are currently in festive mood. But amidst the festive mood, Team India skipper Virat Kohli recently grabbed the headlines and it is not for a good reason.

For the unversed, Kohli on Sunday posted a message on Twitter announcing that he will be sharing “personal tips” soon on how to celebrate “meaningful” Diwali with loved ones. 

“It’s been a tough year for all of us all around the world, especially in India with wave 2 hitting us in 2021. As we get ready for Diwali in this festive season, I will be sharing some of my tips for you to celebrate with loved ones and family," said the video message which also features Kohli.

The tweet went viral and received a mixed response from the fans. Kohli got brutally trolled too. Some netizens made personal attacks on Kohli saying that the India skipper was promoting Anushka’s ‘no cracker’ policy during Diwali but he does not say anything when crackers are bursted during IPL celebrations, New Year and other events.

The backlash, however, forced Kohli to remove the link to his Pinterest account from his official Twitter and Instagram profiles. 

It is to be noted that Kohli's Pinterest page boasts of 6.11k followers and it currently shows two videos related to Diwali. The first video is the introductory one, while in the second video, Virat has shared images of his favorite sweets.
