In a stunning display of skill and power, Prithvi Shaw led Northamptonshire to a resounding six-wicket victory over Durham in the One-Day Cup on Sunday. After his impressive 200 in the previous match, Shaw continued to showcase his striking abilities by smashing an unbeaten 125 off just 76 balls, including an impressive 15 fours and seven sixes. With consummate ease, Northants successfully chased down a modest target of 198.

Luke Procter, the pacer, played a crucial role in this victory, taking four wickets for 34 runs off nine overs, effectively restricting Durham to their final score.

Thanks to Shaw's aggressive century, Northants achieved their target in a mere 25.4 overs, with Rob Keogh providing valuable support with a quickfire 42 off 40 balls. This victory follows Shaw's remarkable performance on August 9, where he scored a magnificent 244 off 153 balls, featuring an astounding 28 boundaries and 11 sixes, leading Northamptonshire to an 87-run win over Somerset.

Shaw's exceptional performances in recent matches highlight his determination to make a comeback into the Indian national team. The right-handed batter last played for India in a T20I match against Sri Lanka in 2021. Although he represented West Zone in the season-opening Duleep Trophy last month, Shaw failed to leave a significant impression. However, his recent displays of skill and power suggest that he is ready to reclaim his place in the national side.
