Mukesh Ambani is set to open a luxury hotel called Anant Vilas in Mumbai after partnering with the mega hotel chain Oberoi Hotels and Resorts.
The new project by Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is set to be a dedication to his youngest son Anant Ambani. The billionaire’s company has now teamed up with Oberoi Hotels to open an ultra-luxury hotel in Mumbai by the name Anant Vilas Hotel.
The Anant Vilas Hotel has been named after Anant Ambani, who is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani and is currently heading the energy sector of Reliance. The new hotel is set to open in Mumbai in the coming months, according to recent reports.
The new luxury property named after Anant Ambani is set to be established in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), which has become a hub of new businesses and ventures by Reliance. The new hotel will be managed by Oberoi Hotels and Resorts.
RIL said in a statement after the deal, “Reliance Industries…has entered into an understanding with The Oberoi Hotels and Resorts (Oberoi) to jointly manage three properties across India and the UK. These include the upcoming Anant Vilas Hotel in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the iconic Stoke Park in the UK, and another planned project in Gujarat.”
Mukesh Ambani’s company said that the Anant Vilas Hotel is aimed at being the first metro-centric property in the Oberoi’s ‘Vilas’ chain of luxury hotels. Including the Anant Vilas hotel, two more properties of Reliance will be handled by Oberoi Hotels.
Apart from Anant Vilas Hotel, Reliance and Oberoi have also joined hands to expand the business of the Stoke Park property in the United Kingdom, which was purchased by Mukesh Ambani’s company for over Rs 592 crore.
Oberoi Hotels has an estimated revenue of over Rs 2700 crore, and Reliance Industries already owns 19 percent stake in Oberoi’s EIH. Apart from Anant Vilas and Stoke Park, a new hotel will also be opened in Gujarat, the details of which are yet to be revealed.
