India and Pakistan got independence nearly at the same time in 1947 and it would not be wrong to say that India has recorded significant growth in its economy since independence. On the other hand, Pakistan’s economy is in doldrums and the country is now dependent on IMF, China, Saudi Arabia and some other nations for its survival. Pakistan is paying the price of its faulty policies and political uncertainty. But there are some Pakistanis who have managed to earn name, fame and money for themselves despite several challenges. One such Pakistani is Iqraa Hassan Mansha, who is regarded as the richest woman in Pakistan.

Iqraa Hassan is the wife of Mian Omer Mansha, who is the son of Pakistan’s second richest man Mian Muhammad Mansha. Iqraa Hassan is the CEO of Nishat Hotels and Properties which manages property in Pakistan as well as a 5-star hotel in London.

Iqra Hassan has completed her BSC Degree in International Politics from London School of Economics and MSC degree in International relations from the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Iqra is also serving as the Director on the Board of several companies. No concrete information is available about Iqra Hassan’s net worth but some reports claim that her net worth is around USD 1 billion. When we compare her net worth to Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, it is nothing as Ambani’s net worth is around USD 90 billion, while Adani’s net worth is around USD 55 billion.

Iqra’s father-in-law Mian Mohammad Mansha is Pakistan's first billionaire and is also called the ‘Mukesh Ambani of Pakistan’. According to Forbes, Nishat Group is Pakistan's largest exporter of cotton clothes and the largest private employer in Pakistan. Mansha’s company also invests in power projects, cement and insurance business. In 1991, Mian Mansha won the bid for Muslim Commercial Bank but he decided to sell more than half of his shares in MCB in 2008. Mansha's current net worth is around USD 5 billion as per reports.
