Everything can now be accessed digitally with a single swipe. IIT graduate Prabhkiran Singh created a one-stop online platform for fashion lovers to keep up with this technologically advanced world. In 2012, Singh and his IIT Bombay classmate Siddharth Munot launched the fashion e-commerce website Bewkoof.com.

Who is Prabhkiran Singh?

Prabhkiran Singh, born in 1990, attended IIT Bombay from 2007 to 2011 to earn a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering. He'd always wanted to start his own business and play cricket for India, but destiny had other ideas. He co-founded Bewakoof in April 2012 after khadke gLASSI, his first business venture, was a failure.

His entrepreneurial journey began as he sat outside their college, formulating concepts for a business that would stand out from the competition. Bewakoof was established in April 2012 with the goal of making a difference through creativity, integrity, and consideration.

When the company first began, it sold fashionable, modern clothing that appealed to millennials. However, Bewakoof quickly expanded its product line to include premium glass covers, electronic audio, bags & backpacks, notebooks and more. The brand's success is attributed to its resonance with the fashion sense of the younger generation.

Bollywood and major production companies were drawn to the brand's creative concepts and alluring catalogue, which resulted in partnerships with blockbuster films like "Bewakoofiyan," "Gangs of Wasseypur," "Bigg Boss," and "Sholay."

Bewakoof also became well-known abroad as a result of partnerships with well-known companies like Disney, Marvel, DC, SpongeBob, and others. According to the Economic Times, the direct-to-consumer (D2C) company Bewakoof reported that newer categories and increased reach helped sales increase by 30% to Rs 250 crore during the year ended March 2022.
