Amit Agarwal, a student of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), created history in 2022 after he succeeded in bagging a job offer with annual salary package of Rs 1.02 crore. The VIT said in a press release that Amit Agrawal, a student of VIT’s Computer Science Engineering, was offered the job during the campus placement. According to VIT, Amit Agarwal got the Pre-Placement Offers (PPO) from Motorq, a US-based venture-backed connected-car data and analytics software platform company. It is to be noted that Amit Agarwal also did his summer internship in the same company.

Amit Agarwal hails from Bokaro in Jharkhand. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at Motorq. The campus placements in VIT started on July 12 and five companies namely Microsoft, DE Shaw, Morgan Stanley, Airbnb and Media.net participated in the placement. The VIT’s press release said that students from all the four campuses of VIT—Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati (AP), and Bhopal (MP) came during the recruitment processes.

US tech giant Microsoft gave fulltime job offer to 45 students for fulltime offers. The PPOs offered were Microsoft (22); DEShaw (2), Fidelity investments (24), JP Morgan (82), Wells Fargo (8), Infosys (7), The Math company (32) and Schneider Electric (7).

VIT is a private research deemed university located in Katpadi in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The institution offers 66 Undergraduate, 58 Postgraduate, 15 Integrated, 2 Research and 2 M.Tech Industrial Programmes. VIT has campuses in Vellore and Chennai and sister universities in Amaravati, Bhopal and Bengaluru.
